About this event
Designed for creative 14–17 year-olds and hosted at Falmouth University, this hands-on summer short course offers an exciting introduction to game development. Guided by experienced tutors, you’ll explore the core principles behind creating your own playable game – from initial ideas and storytelling through to design, coding and testing.
Working in a supportive studio environment, you’ll learn how to use industry-relevant tools such as Unity, while developing key skills in game mechanics, level design and user experience. Along the way, you’ll experiment with creative problem-solving, collaboration and digital production techniques that underpin today’s games industry.
Whether you’re completely new to coding or already curious about how games are made, this course provides a welcoming space to build confidence, try out ideas and bring your imagination to life. By the end of the course, you’ll have created your own simple game and gained a valuable insight into studying and working in game development.
