About this event
We have three new features at the Shipwreck Treasure Museum, Charlestown in 2022.
Immerse yourself in how life was and discover the story of pioneering polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton and his crew in the tunnels beneath the museum that has been transformed into an icy world. Then marvel at striking images of Shackleton’s ill-fated Endurance expedition that brought Antarctica to life in this exhibition in association with the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG). It’s the first time it has been on display in Cornwall.
Then explore how cutting-edge technology has changed shipwreck hunting for archaeologists in polar regions in our new exhibition, Frozen in Time before taking in the rest of the museum that is home to nearly 8000 artefacts salvaged from more than 150 wrecks.
Our new exhibitions run from 9th April until 30th October 2022.
