About this event
The vat process takes 5 hours to produce the blue – the pink dye is also produced from the leaves. I grow the woad and so the workshop includes gathering the leaves before the process can begin. The dyeing takes place out of doors.
Participants need to bring 3 skeins of wool (not super wash). I hope to have dyed sufficient skeins with gorse which will be overdyed to produce green. It is very exciting watching the yellow wool turning blue when exposed to the air.
Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided throughout the day.
