Renowned International Artist Elaine Foster-Gandey Hosts Exclusive Textiles Workshops in Historic Lostwithiel
Elaine will take you through easy steps to produce an exciting embroidery that you can take home. Whether your a Beyoncé fan, Andy Warhol or Marilyn Monroe, what ever icon you choose, Elaine will help you turn a simple image into an exciting keep sake.
The workshop takes place at the Church Rooms on Church Lane, Lostwithiel. Nestled in the enchanting Fowey valley, Lostwithiel, with its 12th-century origins, sets the stage for an immersive artistic experience.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn various embroidery stitches and techniques – Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, our workshops are suitable for all skill levels.
About the Artist
Elaine Foster-Gandey boasts over three decades of experience in the fashion and art industries as well as teaching adults, GCSE & A level. Her illustrious career includes collaborations with famous designers, models, photographers, and brands. Notably, her lockdown project, ‘Hope – Weaving Communities Together,’ funded by the Arts Council, resulted in a giant dress woven with words of hope from over 500 voices. This remarkable creation toured the UK and has garnered further funding for display at the Venice Biennale this year.

Church Lane is on the opposite side of Fore Street from St Bart's church. The Church Rooms has a small step at the main door and level access through the side doors, plus disabled toilets. It's best to let us know in advance if you need the side doors open so we can get them ready.
