About this event
Orpheus, grief-stricken musician and son of one of the immortal muses, strikes a deal with the Gods to rescue his dead love, Eurydice. But descending to the Underworld comes at a steep price – Orpheus must resist the temptation to look at Eurydice until they return to the surface, or risk an eternity without her.
Orpheus & Eurydice is brought to life by acclaimed director and movement specialist Jenny Ogilvie, director of ETO’s 2023 production of Cinderella, uniting Gluck’s music with dance and a new orchestration from composer Leo Grant to create a powerful retelling of this timeless story of ill-fated love.
