About this event
I am an illustrator/bookmaker working in Cornwall. In 2009 I graduated from Falmouth University with a master’s degree in Authorial Illustration. Since then, I have set up the Old School Press, where I design and illustrate limited edition self-publications.
I have always had a passion for storytelling, and this is at the heart of my work. Themes are grown from my surroundings but take you far from the familiar on an unexpected journey.
Observation has been key in breathing life into my work. Enriching drawings with little details, facial expressions, posture, and pattern has been essential in giving strength and emotion to my characters.
I use a combination of drawing, printmaking, and bookbinding techniques to realise my projects.
