About this event
It tries to capture the moment when Mary Magdalene saw Jesus in the garden on Easter Day. A fire is lit and blessed, a flame from it lights the Easter candle, and the great Easter Proclamation, or Exultet, one of the most ancient hymns in the Christian tradition, is sung. There are readings and the first Communion of Easter. Although this requires an early start, there is nothing to compensate for the thrill of proclaiming the Resurrection as morning on Easter Day breaks.
