Exhibition launch event – Cornwall’s Communities: Archives of Lived Experiences

Join us for the launch of our new exhibition ‘Cornwall’s Communities: Archives of Lived Experiences’.

On Thursday 26 June, 6-8pm, be among the first to see this powerful new exhibition, co-curated with voices from across Cornwall. Enjoy complimentary drinks and cocktail pasties, and hear a special introduction to the exhibition at 6.30pm.

The exhibition is the result of a collaboration between the Cornwall Lived Experience Partnership (CLEP), Kresen Kernow and community members. Through creative workshops and personal storytelling, participants explored themes of identity, belonging, fairness and representation – bringing fresh perspectives to Cornwall’s rich archival history.

Expect a fascinating mix of photographs, letters, documents and creative responses that challenge some traditional narratives and celebrate the diversity of lived experience in Cornwall.

This project is proudly supported by an Engagement Grant from The National Archives.

Details

Kresen Kernow is fully wheelchair and pushchair accessible, with lifts to all levels and automatic main entrance doors. Accessible toilets are available on both floors, with a fully-equipped Changing Places toilet also available on the ground floor. Separate baby changing facilities are also available on the ground floor. If you are arriving by vehicle, there are six accessible parking spaces at the Tesco side of the building and a level entrance into the building. If you are arriving on foot or wheels, from Redruth town centre, the closest entrance is at the end of the public path which runs through the old brewery site, from Chapel Street to Kresen Kernow.
