About this event
Artist Naomi Hart has unveiled her latest exhibition, ‘Lair of the Sea Worm: The ocean’s hidden architects’, at Falmouth Art Gallery.
From 16th September until 5th October, visitors can discover her stunning artwork, dedicated to the ocean floor and the marine animals that call it home. As the artist in residence for the Convex Seascape Survey, a pioneering global research initiative led by University of Exeter, Blue Marine Foundation and Convex, Naomi aims to illustrate the vital role of the seabed in storing carbon.
On show at Falmouth Art Gallery is ‘SeaBed’, a piece commissioned by Exeter city council and created with refugees and asylum-seekers – some of the people most affected by climate change. Visitors can also view Naomi’s sketches and paintings from Convex’s bioturbation research in Millport.
The exhibition is open to the public and free to access.
Additionally, on Saturday 28th September, from 10am-1pm, Naomi and scientists from the University of Exeter will be hosting a clay workshop at Falmouth Art Gallery. Drop in, join Dr Jenny Watts, Dr Torsa Sengupta and Mara Fischer, and make wormy sea creatures!
