At Falmouth Art Gallery Fun Palace, we’re thrilled to offer a huge range of free, interactive activities for all ages! Dive into an immersive day filled with VR experiences, media screenings, hands-on crafts, and inspiring workshops. Try your hand at life drawing with Falmouth Life Drawing Society, sketching a real model in costume; get creative with Kernow Library of Things through junk modelling and badge making; and even broadcast live with 10 minutes on air with Source FM! Discover the magic of stop-motion animation and virtual reality with Cornwall Film Festival or lend a hand making nutrient balls for seagrass restoration with the Ocean Conservation Trust. With local artists, makers, and innovators sharing their passions, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and explore—don’t miss it!
Falmouth Art Gallery Fun Palace is part of Fun Palaces 2024: a free, nationwide campaign for culture at the heart of community and community at the heart of culture, with the annual Fun Palaces Weekend 6 – 8 October 2024.
Each Fun Palace celebrates the unique skills and passions of local people – run by, for and with the local community. Since 2014 over 45,000 people have made 2500 Fun Palaces with 800,000 people taking part. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Fun Palaces Weekend.
Fun Palaces create events that bring together arts, science, craft, tech, digital, heritage and sports activities – but above all PEOPLE – to work together, create together, have FUN together, and in doing so, connect our own communities, from the grassroots up.
