About this event
It is 15 years since the Falmouth Soul Sensation was formed, and started playing the best of classic 60’s soul music to enthusiastic audiences all around Cornwall. Their performances feature great music from Aretha, Sam and Dave, Otis, Dusty, Wilson Pickett and many others! Ten years ago the band played their first benefit at the Penzance Acorn, and this has become an annual feature of their new year calendar.
The band are thrilled to be returning to their favourite venue in west Cornwall, and this year the gig will raise funds for the superb St Julia’s Hospice in Hayle.
The band regularly plays to packed audiences all over Cornwall and have been booked back to almost everywhere it has played. Appearances include the opening event for Falmouth Carnival for over a decade, Looe Festival for six consecutive years, St Just’s Lafrowda festival, Penzance’s Golowan, Penryn Fayre, Redruth’s Murdoch Day and Falmouth Princess Pavilion, plus support for Cornwall performances of The Three Degrees and Geno Washington. The band has released an album, on CD and Vinyl, called ‘Soul from the Archive’.
This event will brighten up the gloom of January for music lovers of all ages. Expect a lively evening of non-stop dancing, or just sit back in the balcony and enjoy! Early booking is advised as the event usually sells out.
