About this event
Easter Family Code Jam at Liskeard Library
Learn it. Make it. Bring it to life — together!
Join us for an exciting, hands‑on coding session designed for parents/carers and children to learn and create side‑by‑side. Families will explore Python, experiment with BBC MicroBits, and design 3D creations in TinkerCad — all through fun, beginner‑friendly challenges that spark imagination and teamwork.
What will families do?
Explore Coding & Digital Making
Families will try out three creative technologies — Python, MicroBits, and TinkerCad — with simple explanations and guided activities for total beginners.
Learn Python
A gentle introduction to writing short lines of code that make a computer display messages or follow simple instructions.
Use MicroBits
Discover how these tiny programmable computers work by making lights flash, displaying messages, and triggering actions when you press buttons or move them.
Create in TinkerCad
Build simple 3D objects on screen using shapes, learning how digital designs can turn into real‑world creations.
Creative Family Challenges
Each activity includes a fun, hands‑on challenge for adults and children to complete together — no experience needed.
