Drop-in workshop 10am - 1pm
About this event
Let’s talk about textiles…
Do you have some special textiles in your life? Something that has importance to your family story – a stitched sampler or celebratory piece perhaps? Or an item of clothing that has a memory attached? Or maybe a fragment of cloth that has a story to tell?
Join us and artist Vicki Aimers for our drop-in workshop ‘Family Threads and Stories!’
Bring your treasured piece of fabric along to Kresen Kernow on Saturday 27 January, 10am-1pm to share the story of your special artefact with artist and PhD researcher, Vicki Aimers.
Stay awhile and stitch with Vicki to make a simple cloth book inspired by your fabric treasure. See our new exhibition ‘Who, What, Wear: stories of the women behind Redruth’s rag trade’.
This is a free drop-in event, no need to book, and all materials are included. We suggest ages of 12 and over for this workshop, due to use of scissors and needles for sewing etc.
