Feastival at Home

The digital 'planet conscious' Food festival.

An immersive online food festival bringing the nostalgia of live events and delivering an all round culinary experience from the comfort of your home. Featuring chefs, cocktail bartenders, recipe developers and food industry experts from all over the UK. Festival attendees of all ages and cooking abilities will be able to cook alongside a number of pre-recorded and live videos of some of the nation’s favourite meals and beverages. Feastival at Home will encourage individuals to make more planet conscious decisions when it comes to meal times, whether it’s shopping locally and/or seasonally, reducing plastic or minimising food waste.

In the UK, “4.5 million tonnes of edible food is wasted from our homes every year”, with a massive 70% of this coming from our homes. “81% of people are concerned about climate change but only 37% connect climate change to food waste” (Love Food Hate Waste, 2020). With the helping hand of Feastival at Home all festival attendees should leave the event feeling educated on the importance of shopping locally, mindfully and sustainably. As well as having been informed with different ideas and initiatives to kickstart their planet conscious journey.

Feastival at Home is a final year university event created by four third year BA (Hons) Creative Events Management Students from Falmouth University. Using all the skills learnt across the degree the team intend to provide an interactive and immersive festival for all to enjoy, regardless of their city or country. The free festival can be accessed globally and will go live at 10am BST and will remain active for the whole day allowing attendees to sign on when best fit.
