About this event
St Pinnock Brass Band are well known throughout southeast Cornwall, for being one of the county’s oldest traditional brass bands. Originally formed back in 1866, the band was made up of miners from the local area as part of the Temperance Movement. The uniform then was a blue sash and cap, which stood as a visible reminder that they had denounced the ‘demon drink!’ Today, band members are grateful that the cap no longer exists, and happier still that the band room has its own bar!!
The members of the band today are proud to uphold the traditions from which the band was forged, but equally, take pride in being progressive in their approach to building a bright future for the next generation of brass players.
New players are always welcome!
This Festival of Remembrance will take the audience on a musical journey through classics, a trip down memory lane, exciting new arrangements and, of course, remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
We will honour members of HM Forces, past and present.
Please join us for this special, unforgettable evening of classic Cornish Brass Banding at its best.
