Storytale Studio February – fonts and letterforms

Join us for February’s Storytale Studio – fonts and letterforms!

This family art workshop invites visitors to dive into the playful world of fonts and letterforms – inspired by books – using painting, printmaking and collage techniques.

Families will explore how different styles of letters can express mood, character and meaning, taking inspiration from stories, illustrations and favourite passages. Using words and phrases they love, visitors can create a unique poster, quote or sign to take home and display in their own reading area, celebrating both creativity and the joy of reading.

This activity is aimed at all ages. For babies we will have tuff trays with interactive play inspired by storytelling.

Sessions are run by artist and workshop facilitator, Sophie Stanley-Butcher from Pop Up Paint Pot. Sessions are free and drop-in, no need to book.

This project is a collaboration with Redruth Library and is funded by SWRLS (South Western Regional Library Services).

Accessibility

Details

Kresen Kernow is fully wheelchair and pushchair accessible, with lifts to all levels and automatic main entrance doors. Accessible toilets are available on both floors, with a fully-equipped Changing Places toilet also available on the ground floor. Separate baby changing facilities are also available on the ground floor. If you are arriving by vehicle, there are six accessible parking spaces at the Tesco side of the building and a level entrance into the building. If you are arriving on foot or wheels, from Redruth town centre, the closest entrance is at the end of the public path which runs through the old brewery site, from Chapel Street to Kresen Kernow.
