Ever wondered what stories are hidden in Cornwall’s hedgerows?
Join Cornwall Heritage Trust for a wander through the plants and wild foods that have shaped Cornish life for generations. Discover the flavours, traditions and memories rooted in our historic landscapes — and learn how to forage safely along the way.
The workshop will be led by Vix Ryder, a forager with over a decade of experience helping people discover Cornwall’s hedgerows, coastlines, woodland edges and wild spaces.

During this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn…
• How to safely identify a range of edible hedgerow and grassland plants
• Responsible and sustainable foraging practices
• The seasonal availability of wild foods
• Traditional and modern uses for common wild species
• Practical tips for harvesting and preparing wild ingredients at home
Along the way, you’ll also discover how Cornwall’s landscapes have provided food and resources for local communities for generations, offering a fresh perspective on the heritage and ecology of the countryside around us.
By taking part, you’re helping protect some of Cornwall’s most remarkable places so they can be enjoyed by everyone.

• This event will involve walking on rough, uneven ground. Sturdy footwear and appropriate clothing are essential. • Toilet facilities will be available on site in the “Spend a Penny” trailer. • Parking at the site is very limited however, overflow parking is available in the field of the site.
