About this event
On July 3rd and 4th you are invited to Falmouth University (Wood Lane) to enjoy spectacular exhibitions and free activities curated by the Matthew Lanyon Archive.
The life and work of Cornish Artist Matthew Lanyon (1951 – 2016) is celebrated over two days. Join us for a moving experience exploring The Archaeology of Tomorrow.
The winners of the Matthew Lanyon Poetry Prize will be announced on Saturday 4th at the event, with readings of winning poems.
On Friday you can join a talk and tin smelting demo with Simon Timberlake (Ancient Mining), and enjoy workshops in Art, Poetry and Film.
The award winning film No Holds Barred, The Life and Art of Matthew Lanyon, will screen on both days.
A panel discussion on Saturday will explore with Mark Waugh and contributors, – Archive and the challenge of caring for the past, present and future.
See website for details of how to book onto individual events. But no need to book for the main events, short films and exhibitions.
Come and enjoy this unique two day event in the beautiful setting of Falmouth Uni among sub tropical gardens; a rare opportunity to celebrate Cornish culture, humour and history with unseen work from this visionary, prolific artist. Unmissable.
