Free online talk – Secret Gardens of Cornwall with Tim Hubbard

Join us for an illustrated online talk with author and journalist Tim Hubbard, broadcast via Zoom on Tuesday 18 March, 3-4pm.

Using the title of his latest book, and with stunning images by Cornwall-based RHS award winning photographers @whitworthgardenphotos, Tim will explore some of Cornwall’s lesser known gardens. “These gardens aren’t the Heligans, the Trebahs, or the Trescos” he says. “Wonderful though those are, the twenty gardens I chose for this book all are ‘secret’ in one way or another. All have amazing plants and all have stories to tell.”

After a long career with the BBC – much of it in Cornwall – Tim now writes, hosts bespoke gardening tours and interviews at literary festivals around the UK. ‘Secret Gardens of Cornwall’ won a Holyer An Gof award from Gorsedh Kernow last year.

The talk will take place online via Zoom and will last approximately one hour, with a Q&A session at the end. The talk will be recorded, but not the Q&A session.

Kresen Kernow is fully wheelchair and pushchair accessible, with lifts to all levels and automatic main entrance doors. Accessible toilets are available on both floors, with a fully-equipped Changing Places toilet also available on the ground floor. Separate baby changing facilities are also available on the ground floor. If you are arriving by vehicle, there are six accessible parking spaces at the Tesco side of the building and a level entrance into the building. If you are arriving on foot or wheels, from Redruth town centre, the closest entrance is at the end of the public path which runs through the old brewery site, from Chapel Street to Kresen Kernow.
