Gaia at Truro Cathedral

See the world as never before when artist Luke Jerram’s spectacular Gaia comes to Cornwall.

See Earth as never before…
Gaia, the spectacular touring artwork by UK artist, Luke Jerram, will be at Truro Cathedral for all to see this October. Measuring seven metres in diameter, Gaia features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the Earth’s surface. That’s 1.8 million times smaller than the real planet, giving you the chance to gaze at Earth, as it’s seen from space. A specially made surround sound composition by BAFTA award-winning Composer, Dan Jones, will be played alongside the presentation.

Events for all the family…
There will be a range of events and activities for visitors to enjoy, from yoga and live music to lectures, art exhibitions, and even a silent disco. Soak up the full effect of Gaia’s illumination during late-night openings, and if you have a head for heights, ascend to the high-level gallery and view Gaia from above.

How to see Gaia…
You don’t need to book to see Gaia during standard opening hours (please check the website for daily times), and there is no entry charge to Truro Cathedral. Donations are encouraged to enable the cathedral to continue to bring inspiring installations such as Gaia to the community of Cornwall. For late-night viewings and wider events and activities, ticketing and charges apply.
