The Studio is close to the Lizard, West Cornwall, which is where my inspiration for the two dimensional/mixed media artwork derives.
My work is mostly paintings worked up from sketches, currently in water based media and mixed media. Landscapes and seascapes are my passion, especially winter views of leafless trees, hedgerows, wild seas and headlands.
When we moved here from London in 1987 my eyes were suddenly opened to the amazing views of Cornwall and the opportunities there were for pursuing painting as a pastime. Since then my work as moved through various phases. I have attended some day classes to help and would now describe my style as semi-impressionistic/expressionistic.
I am involved with Constantine Art Society – a local group, to spend time and exchange ideas with like-minded artists.
There are pubs, restaurants and cafes within 1-2 miles of my studio, all serving good food at good prices.
