About this event
Having spent most of her professional life as a human-rights, documentary film-maker, Gill now concentrates on her painting.
She lives between Cornwall and Andalucia. Influenced by the work of Joaquin Sorolla, her focus is on light and colour. She works in acrylics and oil, striving to capture the beauty of her surroundings and the natural world, an antidote to her years making films on the injustice and fragility of life for so many. She is also captivated by flamenco, producing linear drawings in ink and charcoal working to capture movement and passion.
She studied Defining Practice at Newlyn School of Art and has a BA in Film and Photographic Arts from Westminster University.
