About this event
For four generations and 90 years, Maxwell’s entire family have been involved in the musical theatre scene of Welwyn Garden City. Now a lesbian performance artist living in London, Maxwell revisits her hometown, her thespian family and memories of shows gone by – particularly the fraught rehearsals for My Fair Lady, where she wants to play Freddie but is made to audition for Eliza. Step-ball-changing between suburb and city, I, AmDram minds the gap between the identities we assert and the worlds we leave.
Hannah has performed in village halls in the South East via Applause Rural Touring, at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2019 and Adelaide Festival.
