This October, we invite you to join us in celebrating the fruition of the Garden & Estate year with our annual Heligan Harvest Event. From Saturday 5th to Sunday 13th October, join the Heligan Team and some special guests in welcoming the season of abundance.
Heligan Harvest celebrates the taste of our productive and countryside heritage in an exciting array of relaxed events, including daily talks and pop up demonstrations, harvest tasters, corn dolly making and the Heligan Harvest Display before culminating in a mouth-watering Heligan Feast Night.
In the historic Kitchen Garden you’ll be able to meet members of our knowledgeable Productive Gardening Team and get some great gardening tips as well as catching in an insight into the art of onion stringing or seed collecting, in one of the gardeners’ pop up demonstrations.
In the Barn, hundreds of varieties of heritage fruit, vegetables and flowers will come together, lovingly assembled by the Heligan Team into the famous Heligan Harvest Display. This visual feast will also incorporate the harvest from the Heligan Estate, including bamboo, charcoal, wool and eggs! The Barn will also be the location for a daily harvest themed demonstration or talk as well as being the place to sample some Heligan harvest produce and yummy harvest tasters.
On the Heligan Estate, the Harvest Trail will guide families through the landscape, revealing the connections between the animals, gardens and the food created. Daily farm talks and livestock feeding by the Heligan Livestock Team will give an insight into Heligan’s incredible collection of rare breed animals; including sheep, cows, chickens, horses and of course the infamous pigs!
The Heligan Kitchen will be cooking up a storm of harvest lunches full of seasonal inspiration before being joined by special guests on Friday 4th and Saturday 12th October for the return of our exclusive Heligan Feast Nights. These evening ticketed event will combine the bounty of produce, meat and wild ingredients from the Gardens and Estate into a not to be missed 3 course Heligan Harvest Dinner.
