About this event
Angels, Demons, Saints or Tormentors – Which Hellfire Kernow Kryw do you belong to?
The four colourful crews will take to the streets for a celebration of Redruth’s patron, Saint Euny, on the 1st of May Bank Holiday Monday, here’s how to join in…
Where you live determines which Hellfire Kernow Kryw you’re part of, and which team you might like to support in the Hellfire Hurl on Monday 1st May. The divisions are based on the medieval keverangow (‘hundreds’) of Cornwall and centred on Redruth town.
Gather at Market Hall (via Market Strand, next to the Town Clock) at 1pm to find and join a Kryw, before making your way to Redruth’s Fore Street for a proclamation at 2pm, which will lead to a spectacular procession through the town to Hellfire Corner at Redruth Rugby Club, ready for the Hellfire Hurl at 4pm.
Golden Tree Productions mastermind projects that celebrate Cornish culture, heritage and language. The Hellfire Kernow project has received funding from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The funding was allocated from the Good Growth’s Cultural Events and Talent Programme.
