About this event

Join a tutor to make and experiment with clay. Create pots inspired by the Leach Pottery collection.

Workshop: Clay Day
Join a tutor to make with local clay and experiment with different hand-building skills to create pots inspired by the Leach Pottery collection. Finished pots will then be exhibited in the Leach Pottery’s Potter’s Corner. All ages welcome.

Exhibition: John Bedding: 60 Years On
The Leach Pottery Entrance Gallery
This exhibition features new pieces from John’s Copper Glazed Pot series; these sculptural pieces are raku fired, then finished with patination chemicals to give spontaneous colours and unique surface finishes.

Exhibition: Students Over a Century: Roots and Branches
The Leach Pottery, Cube Gallery
For over a century, the Leach Pottery has been a site of training and learning – weaving people, pots, ideas and cultures together. This exhibition tells the story of a small number of the Leach Pottery’s students, from the early years to the present day. This intriguing collection of pots from the Leach Studio and individual potters – some made at the Leach Pottery, some in the potter’s own studios – gives a sense of how potters respond to their time here; some adopting, developing or even rejecting the aesthetics and ideas.

Details

Access Information All public areas are accessible to wheel chairs and pushchairs and people with limited mobility. There are ramps for entrance into the shop. Wheelchair –friendly toilets are situated in the museum entrance space with baby change facilities. We are a dog friendly museum. We have no disabled parking on site due to work being carried out. However, we have a drop-off point outside the Pottery Shop and free parking at St John’s in the Field church, a four-minute walk from the pottery ((Sat Nav-TR26 2FB).
