Behind the scenes tours at Kresen Kernow for Heritage Open Days

Have you ever wondered how we look after over 1.5 million documents? Well, here’s your chance to find out more!

Learn about how we look after documents from Cornwall’s past and discover the incredible work our team do here at Kresen Kernow.

We’re opening up the strongrooms (which are not usually open to the public) for free guided tours on:
Saturday 9 September – 10.00, 11.30 and 2.00
Tuesday 12 September – 10.00 and 11.30
Wednesday 13 September – 6.00pm (NEW for 2023!)
Thursday 14 September – 10.00 and 11.30

From artists and craftspeople, to architects and performers – get up close to some of our amazing documents handpicked by the team at Kresen Kernow, especially for Heritage Open Days’ theme of Creativity Unwrapped!

Accessibility

Details

Kresen Kernow is fully wheelchair and pushchair accessible, with lifts to all levels and automatic main entrance doors. Accessible toilets are available on both floors, with a fully-equipped Changing Places toilet also available on the ground floor. Separate baby changing facilities are also available on the ground floor. If you are arriving by vehicle, there are six accessible parking spaces at the Tesco side of the building and a level entrance into the building. If you are arriving on foot or wheels, from Redruth town centre, the closest entrance is at the end of the public path which runs through the old brewery site, from Chapel Street to Kresen Kernow.
