High Wood Summer Fair

Eco-friendly fair with Cornish charities and businesses. Many free activities for all the family.

Come to our fair in the woods, a Summer fair with a difference!

Protect Earth are holding a Summer fair in High Wood, Liskeard. Much of High Wood has been a conifer plantation since the 1960s but we are working hard to restore this ancient woodland to it’s former glory. Find out more about our work at the Protect Earth stand.

There are lots of free activities and some paid ones too.

Free – See the owls from the Screech Owl Sanctuary and Animal Park, play traditional games, try Qigong, go on a scavenger hunt or a History walk through the woods. There are even some simple crafts for younger visitors.

Paid – Learn how to forage or weave willows, or have your face painted by Jodie May.

Food provided by:
• Oishibuns – Asian fusion street food stall
• Olive and Co. Café – Hot drinks, sweet and savoury snacks
• Nanny Crumbs – homemade cakes

Local stalls include:
• Tonnii Visions – handmade teddy bears
• Changing Faces Face Painting by Jodie May
• Print ‘n’ Play – homemade 3D printed toys, keyrings, ornaments etc.
• SB Jewellery – handmade jewellery

Timetable
Fair opens at 11:00
• 11.00 – 13.30 – Drop-in willow weaving (create a star, a fish or a bird feeder) – Jasmine Fassenfelt -Various prices
• 11:30 – 12:30 – Free History walk/talk – Iain Rowe – author and historian
• 13:00 – 13-30 Ninja Granny – Free Qigong ‘Have a Go Session’ – Kath Revel
• 13:30 –15:00 – ‘Foraging and Drawing in Nature’ Workshop -1½ hours – Gabrielle and Ben – Adults £6, children free
• 14:00 – 16:00 – Drop-in Willow lantern workshops (decorating lanterns with found leaves/flowers) – Jasmine Fassenfelt of Fassenfelt Art
