About this event
Award-winning author, poet and anthologist Jill Dawson’s latest novel, The Bewitching, will be published during LitFest week, so it is with particular pleasure that we welcome this distinguished writer to Penzance. Jill talks to Patrick Gale about her writing life, and what drew her to the chilling subject matter of her new book.
Set in the 16th century, and exploring a neglected episode of English history to powerful effect, it tells the true story of a nine-year-old girl who playfully accuses a neighbour of being a witch, thereby setting in motion a shocking train of events.
