About this event
Quietness is not an absence of something; it is a source of depth, imagination, care, and connection. HushFest is a gentle celebration shaped by Cornwall’s community of “quieteers” (those who consider themselves introverted, sensitive, or shy), local artists, and allies.
HushFest invites you to slow down, wander, pause, and explore the richness of quietness without the pressure to match the louder norms of everyday life.
HushFest revolves around four core themes:
Quiet in Nature: The calm and restoration found in the natural world.
Quiet in Self: The inner world of thoughts, reflection, and mindful making.
Quiet in Relationship: Meaningful connection, deep listening, and shared silences.
Quiet in Creativity: The focus, flow, and joy that emerge through creative expression.
Visitors are invited to come and go as they please – whether you stay for five minutes or a whole afternoon. The exhibitions showcase community-created art, including The HushFest Community Gallery, Quiet Hearts: A Portrait of Our Inner Worlds, The Community Harmony Scarf, and more. You can enjoy interactive activities and we have a quiet hour from 10am – 11am each day, for people who prefer a highly peaceful environment.
Alongside the exhibitions, HushFest offers a variety of gentle, low-pressure events and creative activities where both quietude and soft chatter are welcomed: free drop-in workshops from 1pm – 3pm daily.
Whether you want to create, connect, or simply sit quietly and enjoy the artwork, your quiet presence is deeply valued here.
We have a second HushFest exhibition at Create Contemporary Crafts Hub, Camborne, open Saturday 10am-4.30pm, Tuesday-Thursday 10am-8.30pm, and Friday 10am-4.30pm
