IMS Prussia Cove brings world-class musicians to Cornwall, who give inspirational classical concerts

Founded in 1972, IMS Prussia Cove nurtures and inspires world-class musicians and brings outstanding music to Cornwall, under the Artistic Direction of cellist Steven Isserlis.

Every year, we bring over 250 musicians from across the world to live and work together on a remote stretch of the Cornish coast,for two three-week seminars. These seminars offer extraordinary opportunities to young artists, and nurture an international community of musicians throughout their careers. Our concerts bring world-class music to audiences in Cornwall and across the UK, and our outreach programme inspires young people and communities in Cornwall.

This concert series showcases the work of our Open Chamber Music Seminar, featuring outstanding young artists performing in groups alongside some of our celebrated alumni. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear performances from today’s principal musicians, and vibrant young artists on the brink of their international careers.

Details

Paths around the island are steep, cobbled and uneven with no handrails in some places. There are unguarded edges and steep drops. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to take a wheelchair or pushchair up to the Mount Chapel and if you are walking, sensible footwear is highly recommended. There are toilets next to the Island Shop at the bottom of the Mount, and in the courtyard by the Mount Shop. There is an accessible toilet situated on the east side of the island and on the harbour front. There is plenty of parking in the St Michael’s Mount and Long Stay Marazion car park. There are free bike racks in the Short Stay car park. The causeway to St Michael’s Mount opens at 1345, and will remain uncovered until 1740.
