IMS Prussia Cove’s South West Tour brings world-class classical musicians from across the world to venues throughout Cornwall. The fourth edition of this project will take place in March 2020, featuring acclaimed musicians from the USA, Canada, Israel and the UK. Exceptional performance will be presented to appeal to audiences of all ages, engaging those who are new to classical music as well as regular attendees. Audience comments from previous tours have emphasised both the outstanding quality and the intimacy of the experience. This year’s programme will include Weber’s exuberant Clarinet Quintet alongside works by Dvorak, Schumann, the English composer Howells and the hugely entertaining work Steamboat Bill Junior, written by contemporary Finnish composer Magnus Lindberg in homage to Buster Keaton’s silent film of the same name.

IMS Prussia Cove is a charitable organisation dedicated to music-making at the highest level. For nearly 50 years, we have brought world-class musicians from across the world to a remote part of Cornwall to study, rehearse and perform together. Regular public concerts offer local communities exceptional live performance, while our outreach and education projects engage and inspire young people and new audiences. Founded in 1972, IMS Prussia Cove has established a reputation as one of the most exciting and respected organisations in classical music, and continues to flourish under the Artistic Direction of renowned cellist Steven Isserlis. Alumni includes international soloists, leaders of the world’s great orchestras and acclaimed chamber musicians.
