A retrospective, a life’s work of creative outpourings to be sold in aid of two Cornish Animal Charities: Prickles & Paws Hedgehog Rescue and The Last Chance Hotel

On July 4th 2023 we lost a very dear friend, mother and artist to Cancer … a very creative life cut short far too early.

It was Nic’s wish that we sell her work and donate any money raised to animal charities … so that is what we are doing:

March 3rd to 28th 2025

Exhibition opening times:
Mondays to Fridays: 9am to 4pm

Late night openings: Mondays till 7pm

Celebratory Opening Party: Monday 3rd March 4pm to 8pm
Closing Party: Monday 24th March 4pm to 7pm

Nic was an outstanding fine Artist, moving to Cornwall early in her creative and teaching career. Cornwall was a county which she felt strongly was both her spiritual and creative home.

In Nic’s own words:
‘Inspiration for my work mainly comes from my immediate environment; experiences of being absorbed in this amazing landscape. It can also often be impacted by contemporary popular culture, past travels to di�fferent countries, dreams and musings.

I enjoy the freedom of working with a range of materials. Depending on scale, theme or story, I may use paint (acrylic/oil/household) ink pen/brush, biro, felt pens, pencils and also work with printmaking and collage techniques, sometimes in combination. I sometimes use Adobe Photoshop software as an added tool for more graphic work, such as poster design.

My work is therefore quite diverse in terms of subject and technique, perhaps because of my past life as an Art teacher but also maybe because I prefer not to be labelled as a particular type of Artist’

We feel honoured to have such a rich body of work to share and with which to celebrate this amazing woman … a life long vegetarian it was Nic’s wish that her work be sold and all proceeds be donated to Animal charities … so that is what we plan to do.
