About this event
Exhibition about Cornwall’s theatrical heritage
Our new exhibition celebrates Cornwall’s theatrical heritage from 1750 to the present day. From Cornwall’s first stand-up comedian and earliest theatres, to amateur dramatics, the exhibition features a range of archive highlights from our collections. Upstairs in our Treasures Gallery the spotlight is on more recent theatre in Cornwall, with loans from the archives of Kneehigh Theatre, Nick Darke and Bill Mitchell.
In summer 2020 we will host ‘Out of the Ordinary’, a new exhibition bringing together four Cornish language playscripts for the first time (including the Ordinalia). The scripts have been kept outside of Cornwall for hundreds of years and will return for this very special exhibition at Kresen Kernow.
