Work with artist Victoria Gillow in our Porthmeor Art Collective group for 11 to 16s.
Ever wondered how to use ink? Develop a tool kit for how to start working with this richly tonal medium. Learn about drawing with graphite, creating tone with ink, and then incorporate wax with artist Victoria Gillow.
Inspired by Victoria’s approach to working around our Cornish Coast, and through demonstration and guidance, young artists will be taught how to capture seascapes rapidly in ink. They will learn how to develop line, tone, expressive marks and how to illustrate force, mood and weather. Young artists will be supported to have freedom with the materials, as they transition from small studies into larger ink and wax pieces.
Victoria is a Cornish artist whose work is deeply connected with the her heritage, the landscape and Coast where she works en plein air and also has a studio in Falmouth. She brings a wealth of experience from working as an artist, teacher and in Community arts and wellbeing. She has also worked in hospitals, charities, schools, for the BBC, art galleries and museum services.
For young artists aged 11-16, this group helps young people connect with their creativity and get to know contemporary art practices.
