About this event

Learn how to bind a single section booklet with wrap-around cover and make a folded concertina book.

Learn how to bind a single section booklet with wrap-around cover and make a folded concertina book. By the end of the workshop you will take home two beautiful books ready to fill with your own designs, recipes, photos, thoughts or paraphernalia.

You will be taught about paper grain and how to fold, stitch and trim a single section booklet. In the second part you will learn how to measure, score and fold watercolour paper before joining it to a pair of covered boards.

The cost of the workshop covers all the materials required as well as tea, coffee, soft drinks etc.

Aprons are available for you to use, however as glue is involved, you may wish to wear clothes that can get messy!
If you wish to use your own map for the booklet please bring a piece at least 640mm wide by 240mm high.
Don’t forget your reading glasses if you need them as there is a lot of close up work.

ABOUT YOUR TUTOR
Ken Futers graduated in Textiles and after a long and successful career in retail and customer support started Books n Boxes in 2011. Completely self taught in bookbinding Ken has gone on to teach hundreds of students.
