About this event

This is a broad course where we cover a number of different drawing and painting techniques including, for example, charcoal, pastels, watercolours and acrylics.

Enjoy this free 3-hour taster session where you will get an introduction to the Drawing & Painting Level 1 Award.

Each activity will have a different focus including tonal shading, colour mixing, direct observation, and expressive mark making. You will learn how to develop ideas creatively through exploration. This will help you plan and produce focussed projects. Throughout the course you build a portfolio of work which will include experimental work, final pieces and working notes.

This workshop is part of Be Newquay Festival – a new season of events, activities and workshops that celebrate Newquay’s culture and creative spirit.
