About this event
Certainly my semi abstracted work and even the abstracts, are influenced by living in the Cornwall margins, surrounded by maritime activities. The heritage left by the essential connection of mining and shipping, and the contemporary fishing industry which exists alongside the consequence of Cornwall’s attraction for recreational water users all have their place. Our rich agricultural resources sometimes make their mark too. I’m fascinated by textures, often involving collage. Our harbours with colourful boats, even those slowly becoming part of the environment, provide constant inspiration.
As in previous years, I will be donating 50% of the proceeds of sales during Open Studios Cornwall, to Cornwall Hospice Care.
