About this event
I have spent many years in the film industry working on feature films including cult movies such as Blade Runner and Local Hero and award wining television dramas such as ‘Conspiracy’. Throughout my film career I continued my interest in painting, but now devote more time to it.
I consider my paintings to be objects of mood and time. I enjoy the play between the abstract and the figurative, an element not always discernible. I work instinctively sometimes manipulating the accident to maximise the element of surprise, particularly in relation to shape and colour – as the images develop from this interplay I relish the texture and fluidity of the paint. My work is executed briskly but over a long period of time, until I feel I have arrived upon an image whereby all this history is encapsulated in the moment.

A few minutes drive from West Looe or a very steep 15 minute walk (1/2 mile from West Looe Harbour). At the tip of West Looe Hill take a left down private road to Nellies Cottage. Nearest main road is A387 (Polperro Road)
