About this event
Jane is an advocate and scarf weaver of ‘stinging nettles’, to promote personal and environmental health. Visit her to hear about what nettles can do for you and see the awesome wedding dress made from thousands of used teabags and the story behind it. Jane was shortlisted in 2022 for ‘Cornwall Sustainability Awards’ in the ‘circular economy’ category.
She loves her large family; being a mother of four adult children and a grandmother to eight grandchildren for whom she works hard to give them her all.
Working closely with nature has always been her passion and now she combines all her work with her responsible lifestyle as an example and legacy to her growing family.
Currently, Jane’s love of nature, foraging along her coastal path walks, the sea, and her weaving have seen all her passions combined into her latest body of work, so come along to see and find out more.
Taking the holistic approach, Jane’s inspirational work draws on her growing wisdom and knowledge of nature, and it’s sublime effects on our wellbeing and mental health. She is an advocate and guardian of our planet as seen in her creative work as she does all she can to help fight the current climate change issues, especially with the future of her grandchildren in mind.
Alongside Jane’s textile artwork will be a wonderful selection of talented local artisans including a photographer, guitar maker, jeweller, ceramicist, sculptor of flotsam and an award winning artist and illustrator.
The Mount pleasant Eco Park venue is well known for showcasing local talent and boasts a wonderful vegetarian café, free parking, dog walks and disabled access. During the weekend you will have access to several artists working in different mediums and a chance to meet the artists themselves. There will also be workshops running alongside the exhibition throughout the weekend. The Eco Park is five minutes drive away from the wonderful Porthtowan beach and is family and dog friendly. There is free parking.
