About this event
Jane graduated as a mature student from Falmouth University in 2020 with a BA (Hons) Textile Design degree. She loves her large family; being a mother of four adult children and a grandmother to eight grandchildren for whom she works hard to give them her all.
Working closely with nature has always been her passion and now she combines all her work with her responsible lifestyle as an example and legacy to her growing family.
Currently, Jane’s love of nature, foraging along her coastal path walks, the sea, and her weaving have seen all her passions combined into her latest body of work weaving ‘stinging nettle’ scarves and wall hangings.
Taking the holistic approach, Jane’s inspirational work draws on her growing wisdom and knowledge of nature, and it’s effects on our wellbeing and mental health. She is an advocate and guardian of our planet as seen in her creative work as she does all she can to help fight the climate change issues, especially with the future of her grandchildren in mind.
Putting ‘nettles’ to the test, Jane stayed fit and well throughout the Covid 19 pandemic and with her own good health proclaims the importance of using nature as our medicine for healing and avoiding sickness. The benefits of using nettles is phenomenal and she feels duty bound to spend more time sharing the ‘magical’ benefits of all things nettles with everyone.
Jane will welcome you to ‘The Towans Weave Studio’ where you will be invited to have some nettle tea and see her nettle scarves and wall hangings. You will take away some great health tips and ideas for making your own nettle infusions to drink and maybe much more.
Please come along for a warm welcome and to feel the joy and Jane’s energy as she lives by the quote: “True happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you do are the same thing” – Ghandi.
