About this event
Have you ever thought you would love to learn to make jewellery, but are not sure about what is involved, and whether you will enjoy working in silver? Now is the time to give it a go.
Come and join this beginners jewellery course where you will learn the skills to be able to design, make and finish your own unique pieces of contemporary jewellery.
You will explore an array of processes to include wire work, cutting and sawing metal, joining techniques and finishing processes.
You will learn cutting, filing, hammering, soldering and shaping skills, applying decoration to produce an individual and unique piece. Though out the weeks, the tutor will take you through the basic skills of sawing, filing, annealing, texturing, soldering and polishing, hopefully inspiring you to want to learn more and develop your skills in this fascinating discipline.
A ten week fun, informative course where the class size is kept to a maximum of four so attention to individual class members can be kept central to your learning experience.
Base metal copper is included in the course price, to learn and practice the skills taught, and silver is available to purchase to complete your designs.
