About this event
Vocalist & saxophonist Jimmy Cannon’s monthly live music residency playing the best of jazz and swing music continues.
Following shows on The Great British Songbook and his tribute to Tony Bennett, Jimmy now opens the door to the entire twin-worlds of Jazz and Swing music.
The music of, amongst others, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Diana Krall, Jamie Cullum, Michael Bublé, Cleo Laine, Buddy Greco, Stephane Grappelli, Nina Simone, Harry Connick Jr., Julie London, George Shearing, Peggy Lee, Mel Tormé, Carmen McRae, Al Jarreau, Dizzy Gillespie, and Anita O’Day all inspire Jimmy’s choice of music.
Jimmy is joined by top-notch musicians for a fantastic evening of live music. Jimmy’s hand-picked Quartet is at the heart of the experience. Their jazz and swing expertise provide a harmonious blend that enhances every performance, infusing the stage with undeniable energy.
The show features songs and music the like of those championed by the late presenter and broadcaster Michael Parkinson, when he coined the phrase “Our Kind Of Music”, a phrase Jimmy has adopted in his memory.
