About this event
Funny man Johnny Cowling has been delighting audiences for more than 20 years and his Cornish charm and a quick wit make him an obvious choice to appear at St Ia Church during the September Festival.
Johnny is an entertainer who likes to get among the people during performance -with a wealth of tales and yarns to spin.
His topics, including the ever-changing face of Cornwall, ladies appliances, Cornish family life, holiday-makers and much more, have his audiences laughing with tears running down their faces or running for the loo! As well as providing entertainment for all manner of charities, including the Children’s Hospice South West, he is a Patron of Heartswell and raises money for churches all over the country. Johnny has cycled from London to Paris for the Meningitis Trust and ran The London Marathon twice for Cornwall’s Ambulances (F.L.E.E.T), raising more than £10,000.
Who has Johnny Cowling been compared to? Well, mix a pinch of Jethro , a spoonful of Tommy Cooper and a hunk of Elvis and standing before you would be 6ft 1in Cornishman Johnny Cowling.
