About this event
This concert’s pieces were composed in the last century – the most recent is James MacMillan’s O radiant dawn (2007).
John Rutter, John Tavener and David Mitcham also feature, whilst the centrepiece is Malcolm Williamson’s Symphony for Voices, setting texts by Australian poet James MacAuley. The programme also features a wistful collaboration between a Hungarian composer and a French poet!
The Joyful Company of Singers is known for its virtuosity across an astoundingly wide repertoire. Formed in 1988 by conductor Peter Broadbent. With successes in national and international competitions, it has performed at several leading UK festivals and has been broadcast by the BBC, Classic FM and overseas channels.
