About this event
Not only are we thrilled to have award-winning novelist Kate Mosse as a guest author at this year’s LitFest, we are also excited to be part of the launch week for her latest book, ‘The Ghost Ship’. This was inspired, in part, by the real-life stories of 18th-century pirate duo, Anne Bonny and Mary Read.
It is an altogether epic tale of courageous women battling to survive in a man’s world, of vengeance and breath-taking peril on the high seas, of long-buried family secrets and a love story spanning three generations.
‘The Ghost Ship’ is Kate’s third novel in the bestselling series ‘The Joubert Family Chronicles’. ‘The Burning Chambers’ and ‘The City of Tears’ have together sold more than 400,000 copies. Her ten novels and short story collections also include the multi- million selling Languedoc Trilogy (‘Labyrinth’, ‘Sepulchre’ and ‘Citadel’) and Gothic fiction, including ‘The Winter Ghosts’ and ‘The Taxidermist’s Daughter’.
