One of the UK Folk scene's finest duos.
Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman’s 2020 tour “On Reflection” marks 25 years of making music together for this popular wife and husband Folk duo. The pair have long established themselves as one of the UK Folk scene’s most rewarding and refreshing performers. To celebrate and acknowledge their Silver anniversary of performing together, the couple will revisit and reinterpret songs which span their illustrious career. From the early days of folk supergroup “Equation” (with Kate Rusby) through to the current album release “Personae”, with a nod or two along the way to their extra-curricular musical adventures, the evening promises a whistle-stop tour through their artistic journey to date.
Kathryn and Sean are two of the British folk scenes most accomplished performers, and are winners of the 2016 BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Duo. They have graced stages the world over in a number of guises, with a number of groups and bands all to popular and critical acclaim. However, their intimacy and strength of passion and supreme musicianship is shown to best effect when they share the stage together – the quality shines through.
Stripped back to their simple, pure talent, with an ever-evolving, eclectic, repertoire, Kathryn & Sean ensure a rare treat for any listener and music-lover who is lucky enough to see them in concert. With a story that includes over 20 years of music making with the likes of Kate Rusby, Seth Lakeman, Cara Dillon, The Levellers, Billy Bragg, Frank Turner, Imelda May, Bellowhead and Show of Hands, Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman have consolidated themselves as pillars of modern British folk.
