Lighting Up Callington with magic and fire

On 25th November 2023 we will hold a torchlit, fancy dress, evening parade through the main streets of Callington (“Kelliwik” in Cornish). The parade will be made up of individuals, local groups and organisations, with music and dance, ending in displays in the main square of Callington, providing an opportunity to lighten up the dark night, hence “Golowi” which means “light up” in Cornish. The event will be one to remember. A debut event inspired by and designed for our community.

Ahead of the parade there will be a series of workshops in which community participants can learn skills of costume and lantern making, and performance of Cornish music and dance. Participation in these workshops, which will be held in a variety of community venues, and may involve fire!
