About this event
On the same day, thousands of organisations across the country will be uniting to help out in their local communities for The Coronation’s Big Help Out campaign.
The challenge from Cornwall’s High Sheriff is for teams of clubs, families or friends to come together each to build a sandcastle fit for The King in order to raise vital funds for The Roseland Centre. At 1pm, the National Anthem will sound. The High Sheriff will then judge the creations and select the best castle with various prizes given for different categories.
The Roseland Centre provides access to a range of activities and facilities for local residents whilst promoting and enhancing wellbeing through nature. The Roseland Centre is currently raising funds to conduct further refurbishments to the site and buildings which will enable the team to change more lives through outdoor activity and education in Cornwall.
The challenge will commence at 11am on Carne Beach (TR2 5PF) on Monday 8th May 2023. It will finish at 1pm when each team hoists their union flag as the National Anthem plays. The donation cost is £20 (minimum) per group to go directly to The Roseland Centre – members of the team will be in attendance on the day with payment facilities. No more than ten shovels per team but everyone is most welcome to bring picnics and supporters along on the day.
