About this event
The inspiration of my patterns originates from growing up in the countryside, surrounded by nature. Before moving to big cities such as London and Toyko, surrounded by different architecture. I would describe my patterns as a combination of the countryside and the city gone rogue.
For as long as I can remember I fell in love with colour. Colour has intrigued, inspired and excited my life. As a textile artist, colour is often the most dominant part of my designs. I can’t get enough of the most exquisite brightest, boldest and most vibrant colours. As a result of this, I love to hand dye all my yarn both naturally and chemically as eco consciously as I can.
In addition to focusing and integrating sustainability into my design process, often working with upcycled materials. However more recently regarding my weaving, using hemp fibre has taken my interest. I am currently investigating and experimenting, whether using hemp in textiles could be the answer to a more sustainable textile world.
I have recently graduated with a BA in textile design at UAL Chelsea College of art in 2021, specialising in woven textiles.
